PCIe x1 USB 3.1 Gen2 2-Port Type-C Data Adapter

The SMUGDESK U3142CX1 adds two USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C ports to a desktop PC through a PCIe x1 slot. It uses the ASMedia ASM3142 controller to deliver up to 10Gbps bandwidth for external SSDs, cameras and other high-speed peripherals.

Check slot space and operating system before

A free PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slot is required, along with clearance for either the full-height or low-profile bracket. Windows 11, 10 and 8 work without extra drivers, while Windows 7 needs a separate driver; Linux and macOS are supported natively.

Dual brackets and per-port power delivery

Both standard and low-profile brackets are included so the card fits ATX and small-form-factor cases alike. Each Type-C port can supply 5V at 2A, letting bus-powered NVMe enclosures and similar devices run without an external power adapter.
