High-Resolution Full-Frame Kit

The Sony a7R IVA pairs a 61MP Exmor R BSI CMOS sensor with the FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II lens. A BIONZ X processor and front-end LSI drive 10 fps continuous shooting and UHD 4K30p recording with HLG and S-Log3. The 567-point phase-detection AF system covers the frame for precise subject tracking.

Ideal for Detail-Focused Shooters

This kit suits photographers who need maximum resolution for commercial, landscape or studio work and want a bright constant-aperture zoom included. Buyers who require higher frame rates for video or specialised video-centric features should consider other options.

61MP Sensor Decides Suitability

The 61MP full-frame sensor determines whether this camera matches the workflow. It delivers 15-stop dynamic range and high subject detail but produces large files that demand fast storage and processing power. If the resolution exceeds the intended output, a lower-pixel alternative may be more practical.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 61MP body with the 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II lens kit or a body-only option?

The kit pairs the 61MP full-frame sensor with the 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II zoom and includes a 128GB card, 82mm filter set, bag, reader and cleaning gear so you can shoot immediately.

What does 10 fps mean when I am tracking fast subjects with the 567-point AF system?

You can capture up to 10 frames per second while the 567 phase-detection points maintain Real-time Eye AF and Tracking AF on moving subjects across the frame.

How does the UHD 4K30p spec limit my video workflow with HLG and S-Log3?

Video tops out at UHD 4K at 30p, so higher frame rates or 6K/8K recording are not available; HLG and S-Log3 gammas give you wide dynamic range for grading within that 30p cap.
