48" OLED TV for precise viewing

The Sony XR48A90K is a 48-inch 4K OLED Smart TV from 2022 with a 120Hz panel and Cognitive Processor XR. It targets viewers who want pixel-level contrast and wide-angle colour accuracy in a compact living-room or desktop setup. The 16:9 screen reaches 3840 x 2160 resolution and supports variable refresh rate for responsive motion.

Austere 7S-PS4-US1 power strip adds protection

The bundled four-outlet Austere unit supplies 3500 joules of surge protection with Type III PureFiltration EMI/RFI isolation and flameless MOV circuitry. A USB-C port delivers 45W for charging phones or tablets while the isolated outlets keep audio-video gear on clean power. Overcurrent protection and Smartfit outlets complete the safety package.

25W acoustic surface audio suits near-field use

Built-in actuators turn the panel into a 25W speaker system tuned for dialogue, theater, music, sports and Dolby Audio modes. Output is adequate for a single viewer at desk distance or a small bedroom but runs out in larger rooms or noisy environments. Buyers needing room-filling sound or discrete multi-channel surround will require external speakers or a soundbar.

Questions about this item

Will the OLED panel need any maintenance or replacement parts over time?

The OLED panel is a sealed unit with no user-serviceable parts; long-term image retention risk is managed by the Cognitive Processor XR and built-in pixel-refresh cycles, so no scheduled maintenance or replacement is required.

What limit appears first during extended high-brightness HDR viewing?

Sustained peak brightness is limited by the panel's automatic brightness limiter, which reduces output after several minutes of full-screen HDR to protect the organic pixels from premature aging.

How much heat and noise does the TV produce when running all day?

The 25 W audio system and Cognitive Processor XR generate modest heat dissipated through the rear chassis; no internal fans are present, so operation remains silent even during continuous use.
