Portable 9U Server Rack

The StarTech RK960CP is a portable 9U server rack with built-in handles and four swiveling casters for maximum mobility. It stores servers, network and telecommunications equipment in a closed-frame cabinet that rolls between locations. The unit suits mobile production crews, temporary installations and technicians who need rack gear on the move.

23in Depth Rolling Cabinet

This cabinet replaces fixed wall-mount brackets or stationary racks when equipment must travel between studios, offices or event sites. The jump is worth it when you need 9U of standard rack space that can be repositioned without tools or permanent mounting. It supports a static load of 220 lbs and meets TAA compliance for GSA Schedule purchases.

Enclosed 4-Post Frame Build

The 4-post enclosed frame uses solid steel side panels and includes top, bottom and two side panels with handles for a complete enclosure. A bottom grommet routes cables while 32 M5 and 24 M3 screws secure 23in deep gear. Two 2.5in casters and two 2.5in brake casters lock the rack in place. Eight plastic corner caps protect surfaces during transport.

Questions about this item

What floor space and clearance does the 23 in. deep rack need?

The cabinet is 23 in. deep and rolls on four 2.5 in. casters, so allow at least that depth plus room for the side handles to swing open.

Which screws secure the 9U rails and the side panels during assembly?

Use the 32 M5 10 mm screws for the rack rails and the 24 M3 8 mm screws for the two side panels with handles.

When should the two brake casters be checked or replaced?

Inspect the 2.5 in. brake casters whenever the rack no longer holds position on a slope or the wheels show flat spots.
