Bi-Directional HDMI 2.1 Switcher

This HDMI 2.1 switcher connects two sources to one display or one source to two displays, switching between them with a button press or the included remote. It suits gamers and home-theatre users who need to share a single 8K-capable screen between a console, a streaming stick or a PC without swapping cables. The aluminium housing provides passive cooling for continuous operation.

HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and format limits

The switcher passes 48 Gbps signals and supports 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 144 Hz and 120 Hz, and 1080p at 240 Hz. It also handles VRR, Dynamic HDR, HDCP 2.3 and Dolby Vision. Because it is a single-output device, only one destination is active at a time; simultaneous dual-display output is not possible. An external USB-C power cable is included for sources that cannot supply enough current through the HDMI port.

Capacity and headroom for typical setups

Two inputs comfortably cover a current-generation console plus a media streamer or a second PC. The 48 Gbps bandwidth leaves headroom for high-refresh 4K gaming and 8K video playback. If a third source such as a Blu-ray player or a legacy device must be added, this unit cannot accommodate it and a larger matrix would be required.

Questions about this item

Should I use this as a 2-in-1-out switch or a 1-in-2-out splitter?

It works both ways — connect two sources to one display or one source to two displays, switching manually with the button or remote. Only one output is active at a time.

What does 48 Gbps bandwidth mean for my 4K 144 Hz monitor?

The 48 Gbps HDMI 2.1 link carries 4K at 144 Hz with VRR and Dynamic HDR, so high-refresh gaming on PS5 or Xbox Series X runs without compression.

Does HDMI 2.1 with HDCP 2.3 limit anything on older 4K 60 Hz screens?

No — the switch is backward compatible and will pass 4K 60 Hz, 1080p 240 Hz or lower resolutions through the same HDCP 2.3 handshake.
