Taopjwr XD0028E 7-in-1 External Blu-ray Drive

The Taopjwr XD0028E is a new external Blu-ray drive that connects via USB 3.0 Type-C. It reads and writes CDs, DVDs and BDs with support for 100G capacity discs and 1080p 3D playback. The unit includes a 2-in-1 USB and Type-C cable for plug-and-play operation and a separate power cord. It also provides 7 ports: SD and TF card slots, two Type-C ports, one USB 3.0 port and one USB 2.0 port.

Suits users needing disc access and extra ports

This drive suits laptop or desktop owners who want to read or burn Blu-ray, DVD and CD media while adding SD, TF and additional USB connectivity. It is not for buyers who require internal installation or a drive without the multi-port hub function. It also does not suit users who need simultaneous SD and TF card access, as the slots cannot be used at the same time.

100G Blu-ray read and write capacity

The decisive specification is the 100G read and write capacity on Blu-ray media. If your workflow requires storing or retrieving data on high-capacity BDXL discs, this drive meets that need. If you only work with standard DVDs or CDs, the extra capacity will not be used.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 3.0 Type-C cable work with my older laptop that only has USB 2.0 ports?

Yes, the drive is backward compatible with USB 2.0, though read and write speeds will be limited to the slower port's maximum throughput.

How can I verify the drive is reading a Blu-ray disc at the rated 6× speed after setup?

Use disc-info software to confirm the active read rate reaches 6× for BD media and check that 1080p 3D playback runs smoothly without stutter.

Does the package include both the 2-in-1 USB/Type-C cable and the power cord, or must I buy a separate power adapter?

The box contains the attached 2-in-1 transfer cable and a power cord; no extra power adapter is required.
