Plug Adapter for US-to-EU Power

This TeKit adapter connects a European Schuko plug to a standard US NEMA 5-15P outlet. It allows travellers or importers to use EU devices on American sockets without rewiring. The compact black unit weighs 40g and fits easily in a laptop bag. No voltage conversion is performed.

Sustained Current Capacity

The adapter is rated for continuous operation at 15A and 250V using PVC-insulated pure copper conductors. Heat rise remains within specification during prolonged loads because the contact surfaces are sized for the full rated current. Mechanical retention keeps both connectors secure under vibration. No active cooling is required.

Voltage Conversion Absent

This device only changes the physical plug shape; it does not alter the supply voltage. Equipment must already support the local mains voltage or damage will occur. Buyers who need step-up or step-down transformation must select a separate converter.

Questions about this item

Does the adapter generate heat or noise when a device draws close to the 15 A rating all day?

The adapter is a passive copper-and-PVC unit with no fan or active electronics, so it produces no audible noise; warmth will remain low provided the connected load stays within the 15 A 250 V rating.

What must the buyer already own for this adapter to work?

You need a North-American NEMA 5-15R outlet and a device fitted with a CEE 7/7 Schuko plug; the adapter simply bridges those two connectors.

Will a legacy European appliance with an older CEE 7 plug fit securely into the Schuko female socket?

The female side accepts the standard CEE 7/7 Schuko profile used across Europe, so any plug built to that profile — including older variants — will seat correctly.
