TRIMACO 949460 Self-Adhesive Containment Film

This clear polyethylene film measures 1.97 ft wide by 72 ft long with a .5 mil thickness. It adheres directly to surfaces to create a protective barrier during painting or renovation work. The self-adhesive backing eliminates the need for separate tape or fasteners. It suits professional painters and DIY users who need quick containment setup.

What the self-adhesive backing changes

The integrated adhesive allows immediate application without extra tools or masking tape. Polyethylene construction resists paint bleed-through and tears during use. The clear material keeps covered areas visible for inspection while work continues. Buyers who need a non-adhesive drop cloth or a heavier mil thickness for abrasive environments should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How often will the 0.5 mil polyethylene film need to be replaced during a long project?

The film is designed for single-use containment; once the adhesive loses grip or the sheet tears, you remove the entire 72 ft roll and apply a fresh section.

What limitation appears first when the film is left on a surface for several days?

Extended dwell time increases adhesive transfer, so the practical limit is how long the clear polyethylene can stay bonded without leaving residue on the substrate.
