Purpose-built LPR camera

The Ubiquiti AI LPR is a 4K bullet camera designed for outdoor license-plate recognition on vehicles moving up to 90 km/h. It covers up to two lanes of traffic and includes integrated microphones for audio recording.

Outdoor mounting and zoom setup

Installation follows standard bullet-camera practice for exposed outdoor locations. The 3x optical zoom must be adjusted on-site to frame the target lanes; incorrect zoom or aim is the most common cause of missed plate reads.

Recognition limits at night

Infrared illumination reaches 15 m (50 ft), so plates beyond that range will not be captured after dark. The smart detector classifies people, animals and vehicles, but the LPR function is specialised for plates and does not extend general surveillance analytics.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the camera is capturing license plates at the rated 90 km/h after installation?

Check the UniFi Protect dashboard for high-speed detection events and review recorded 4K footage to confirm plates are legible on vehicles moving up to 90 km/h.

What comes in the box and what must I purchase separately for this UVC-AI-LPR-B?

The package includes the 4K bullet camera with integrated microphones and smart detector; mounting hardware, PoE injector or switch, and UniFi Protect subscription are sold separately.

Which version of this AI LPR camera should I choose for covering two traffic lanes at night?

This single UVC-AI-LPR-B model covers up to two lanes with its 3x optical zoom and 15 m (50 ft) IR night vision, so no other version is required.
