5-Pin S-Video PCB Socket Pack

This pack contains five black S-video sockets designed for direct PCB mounting. Each unit is a female 5-pin DIN connector suited for repairing or building audio-video equipment such as media players, notebooks and car audio systems.

Mounting footprint and pin limit

The sockets need a 20 mm mounting hole and occupy a 22 mm by 22 mm board area. Only five pins are provided, so the connector cannot carry signals that require more contacts or a different pinout.

Mixed plastic and metal construction

The body combines plastic and metal materials with a black and silver-tone finish. Through-hole pins allow standard soldering on a PCB, giving a secure mechanical joint for devices that are frequently plugged and unplugged.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the five-piece pack or buy a single socket?

The listing only supplies a five-piece pack of S-video PCB sockets; no single-unit option is shown.

What does the 22 mm length and diameter mean once the socket is soldered to a board?

The socket body measures 22 mm by 22 mm, so it occupies roughly 0.87 inch square of board space and fits a 20 mm mounting hole.

How does the 5-pin DIN interface limit the signals I can carry?

The 5-pin DIN connector carries standard S-video luminance and chrominance plus ground, so it is limited to analogue Y/C video and cannot pass digital or component signals.
