Steel Swivel Caster 1200 lb

This single steel swivel plate caster carries a 1200 lb load rating on an 8 in. diameter wheel that is 2 in. wide. It is built for heavy-duty carts, work platforms and material-handling equipment that need a robust wheel.

Plate mount with side brake only

The caster attaches through a top plate and provides a side brake as the sole locking method; no swivel lock is included. Buyers who need a directional lock or a total-lock brake will have to source a different model.

Solid steel wheel with non-marking tread

Both wheel and core are steel, and the tread is non-marking to protect finished floors. The steel construction resists impact and wear but adds weight and transmits more vibration than softer tread materials.

Questions about this item

Which load rating should I choose for my heavy-duty cart?

The 1200 lb rating means this single steel caster can support up to 1200 pounds when mounted correctly on a rigid frame.

What does the 1200 lb load rating mean once the caster is installed on my equipment?

It indicates the maximum weight this caster can safely carry; the total capacity of your cart depends on how many casters you fit and how evenly the load is distributed.

How does the plate mounting interface limit what I can attach this caster to?

The top plate bolts to a flat, rigid surface; you must drill matching holes and ensure the mounting structure can handle the 1200 lb load without flexing.
