V-Groove Rigid Caster 6 Inch

This rigid plate caster features a 6-inch V-groove wheel built from iron for guided movement along tracks or angle iron. The wheel core is also iron and the tread is non-marking. It carries a load rating of 1000 lb and has no brake or swivel lock included. The frame uses 18-gauge steel with a yellow finish.

Upgrade from standard flat tread casters

Replace flat-tread wheels when equipment must follow a fixed path and lateral drift is unacceptable. The V-groove profile keeps carts aligned on inverted angle iron or dedicated track, reducing wear on guide rails and preventing binding. The jump is worth it when repeatable positioning matters more than free swivel motion.

Suits track-guided carts and heavy fixtures

Ideal for fabricators, maintenance teams, and material-handling setups that run on V-track and need a single rigid caster rated for 1000 lb. Not suited for applications requiring swivel steering, integrated brakes, or corrosion-resistant stainless construction. Buyers needing a complete swivel-and-rigid set should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

What mounting plate pattern does the 18-gauge steel caster use?

The rigid caster mounts with a standard four-hole plate; bolt centres match common industrial patterns for 6-inch V-groove wheels.

Which step is most often missed when bolting the 1000 lb caster to a cart?

Installers frequently forget to torque all four plate bolts evenly, causing the V-groove wheel to track out of alignment.

When should the iron V-groove wheel be inspected for wear?

Check the tread groove monthly under heavy loads; replace the wheel once the groove depth drops below the original profile.
