What the camera is and who it suits

The VideoSecu IRE96W is a wired analogue CCTV camera with a 1/3" Sony Effio CCD sensor delivering up to 700 TV lines of resolution. It is designed for installers or property owners who need a day/night bullet camera that connects directly to a BNC-input DVR and requires a separate 12 V DC power supply.

Installation and common issues

The camera ships with a mounting bracket that conceals the wiring inside the arm, reducing exposure to tampering and weather. Power is supplied by the included 12 V DC adapter, and video runs over a single coaxial cable to the DVR; the varifocal 4-9 mm lens must be focused manually at the camera during setup.

Compatibility checks before ordering

Verify that your recorder accepts standard analogue BNC video and is not an HD-over-coax or IP-only unit, because this camera outputs only composite analogue signals. Confirm you can provide a 12 V DC supply at the mounting location and that the coaxial run stays within the distance limits of your DVR specification.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the camera switches to black-and-white mode when light drops?

Watch the live feed on the connected DVR; the image should change from colour to monochrome automatically as ambient light falls below the sensor threshold.

What comes in the package and what must I supply separately?

The box contains the bullet camera with mounting bracket, a 12 V DC power supply and a warning sticker; you must provide a compatible CCTV DVR and BNC video cable for recording.

Which lens setting suits a wide driveway versus a narrow entry path?

Adjust the 4-9 mm varifocal ring — use the 4 mm end for a wider field across a driveway and the 9 mm end for a tighter view of a narrow path.
