Adapter lets 2010-2011 MacBook Air SSDs work as 3.5-inch SATA drives or USB external storage
This adapter connects proprietary Apple SSDs from 2010-2011 MacBook Air models A1369, A1370, A1375 and A1377 to standard 3.5-inch SATA interfaces. It includes a USB 3.0 Type-C cable for external use. The board accepts both 3.3 V and 5 V power without an extra adapter or drivers.
The adapter fits SSDs from the listed Air models such as Toshiba THNSNC128GMDJ and Samsung MZ-CPA series up to 256 GB. It does not fit 2.5-inch SATA drives because the adapter plate is longer than a 2.5-inch form factor. SSDs from MacBook Air 2012-2017 are not supported.
The converter presents the MacBook Air SSD as a 3.5-inch SATA device measuring 132 mm by 43 mm by 12 mm. This size determines whether it fits your drive bay or external enclosure. The pinout is not original; align the SSD using the PCB silkscreen chart before inserting.

The adapter is a passive copper circuit with no fan or active components, so it adds no audible noise and negligible heat beyond the SSD itself.
You need a 2010-2011 MacBook Air SSD (A1369, A1370, A1375 or A1377 models such as Toshiba THNSNC128GMDJ or Samsung MZ-CPA1280) and a desktop or laptop with a standard 3.5" SATA bay or a free USB 3.0 Type-C port.
No — the adapter removes the SSD from the MacBook Air entirely so it can function as a 3.5" SATA drive or USB external storage on another system.
