Connects a Mini SAS SFF-8087 controller to four SAS SFF-8482 drives with integrated Molex power
This 3.3ft cable connects a Mini SAS SFF-8087 host controller to four SAS hard drives using SFF-8482 connectors. It is built for storage administrators expanding a SAN or DAS array with a forward fan-out design. Each of the four target connections carries both data and power through the integrated Molex 4-pin leads. The 36-pin host side plugs directly into compatible RAID or HBA cards.
The cable maintains a continuous link between the controller and each attached drive during extended rebuilds, backups or parity checks. Molded strain relief on the 29-pin and 36-pin ends resists signal degradation when the chassis vibrates under heavy spindle activity. Separate Molex feeds let the power supply deliver current to every drive without daisy-chain voltage drop. This construction supports reliable throughput for multi-drive workloads.
Confirm your RAID or HBA card presents a Mini SAS SFF-8087 port before ordering. The target backplane or drive cage must accept four discrete SFF-8482 29-pin connectors with combined data and power. Ensure the power supply has four free Molex 4-pin leads for the integrated power tails. Cable routing space of 3.3ft between the controller slot and the drive bays is required.

The cable is passive copper with no active electronics, so it generates no heat and draws no power of its own; only the drives and the Molex-fed backplane consume power.
The host side requires a 36-pin SFF-8087 Mini SAS port, found on cards such as the LSI 9207-8i, Adaptec 6405E or HP Smart Array P410.
Yes, each of the four breakout ends is a 29-pin SFF-8482 connector that carries both data and power for legacy SAS drives.
