Four-pack 90-degree SATA cables

This set contains four SATA data cables, each 0.5 metres long, with double 90-degree connectors. They link motherboards or host controllers to internal hard drives, SSDs, optical drives and RAID controllers. The cables carry data only and do not supply power to the attached devices.

Braided bundle with labelled ends

A nylon braid holds the four cables together for tidy routing inside tight server or workstation chassis. Each lead is marked P1 to P4, making it simple to trace connections when building RAID arrays or multi-drive storage pools. The half-sleeved construction keeps the group flexible while reducing clutter.

6 Gbps SATA interface ceiling

The cables are rated for 6 Gbps SATA speeds and remain backward compatible with slower SATA revisions. Actual throughput is capped by the slowest connected device or controller, so older drives will not reach the maximum rate. Builders needing longer runs or powered drive connections must source separate cables.

Questions about this item

Will the SATA 7-pin connectors need replacing if the latch tabs break?

The cables use standard SATA 7-pin female connectors rated for 6Gbps; if a latch tab snaps, only that individual cable needs swapping, not the whole set.

What caps the throughput when the 6Gbps link runs continuously?

Sustained speed is limited by the slowest attached drive or controller, so a SATA II SSD will top out at 3Gbps even though the cable supports 6Gbps.

Do the braided 0.5m cables add noticeable heat or noise inside a server chassis?

Passive copper cables generate no noise and negligible heat; the nylon braid only aids routing in tight spaces.
