Convert SATA M.2 drives to SATA3

This adapter converts a SATA-bus M.2 NGFF SSD into a standard SATA 6Gbps interface. It supports B-key and B+M-key drives in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 form factors. Builders upgrading laptops or desktops with a spare SATA port can reuse existing M.2 SATA storage. It does not work with PCIe NVMe M-key or M+B-key SSDs.

Supports SATA I II III speeds

The card operates at SATA revision I, II and III rates of 1.5, 3.0 and 6.0 Gbps. It handles any SATA-bus M.2 drive within the listed lengths and key types. Performance tops out at the SATA 6Gbps link limit, so faster PCIe drives cannot be used and will not function. Buyers needing NVMe support must choose a different adapter.

B-key and B+M-key SATA only

The single specification that decides compatibility is the SSD key type and bus protocol. This adapter only accepts SATA-bus M.2 SSDs with B-key or B+M-key notches. It physically and electrically rejects M-key and M+B-key NVMe drives such as the Samsung 950PRO or 960EVO. Verify your drive key before purchase.
