The card accepts M.2 modules in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths and presents them as a standard PCIe 3.0 x4 device through the x16 edge connector. No software drivers are required and the adapter does not alter the drive’s native speed or protocol characteristics.

Upgrade context and limits

It replaces the need for a motherboard with an onboard M.2 socket when using drives such as the XP941, SM951, PM951, A110, m6e or 960 EVO.
