Suits builders adding M.2 SATA storage to 2.5-inch

Users with M.2 SATA drives who need a 2.5-inch form factor will find this enclosure a direct fit. It is not intended for systems that require a different physical interface or protocol than SATA. Buyers needing to connect drives via other bus types should look at alternative solutions.

Questions about this item

How do I install a 2280 M.2 SATA drive into the 7 mm 2.5-inch enclosure?

Insert the drive at an angle into the M.2 slot, press it flat, secure it with the supplied screw, then slide the PCB into the 7 mm aluminium case and fasten the case screws.

Will the SATA III interface or the M.2 connector need replacement after heavy use?

The SATA III connector is rated for repeated mating cycles; the M.2 slot is a passive socket with no moving parts, so neither normally requires replacement.
