8.6-inch Molex-to-SATA power adapter

This 8.6-inch cable converts a Molex 4-pin male connector into a 15-pin SATA female connector. It supplies power to hard drives, SSDs or optical drives from an older power supply. The short 22 cm length keeps wiring tidy inside compact cases.

Builders adapting legacy power supplies

Suits anyone adding SATA storage to a PSU that only offers Molex outputs. Not for users who need multiple SATA plugs from one Molex lead, or who require a longer reach for full-tower cable routing.

Direct 1-to-1 power conversion

The single female SATA connector delivers the standard 15-pin interface without extra splitters or adapters. Oxygen conductor material is specified for the cable cores. No additional software or mounting hardware is included.

Questions about this item

Do I need a free Molex 4-pin connector on my power supply to use this cable?

Yes, the cable draws power from a standard Molex 4-pin male plug on your PSU.

Will this adapter power a legacy IDE drive if I keep one in the build?

No, the female end is a 15-pin SATA power connector, so it only fits SATA hard drives, SSDs or optical drives.

How can I confirm the 8.6-inch cable is delivering power correctly after I connect it?

The connected SATA drive should spin up and appear in the BIOS or operating system without errors.
