NGFF B+M adapter with dual SATA ports

This Vszerda NF-SA-044 adapter fits an NGFF Key B+M PCI Express slot and provides two SATA 3.0 connectors. It allows an SSD to be used as a system drive through the adapter. The card supports transfer rates of 6.0Gbps, 3.0Gbps and 1.5Gbps.

JMB582 controller enables 6.0Gbps throughput

The JMB582 main control chip drives both SATA 3.0 interfaces at up to 6.0Gbps. Native command queue technology maintains performance and stability under heavy load. Error reporting, recovery and correction are supported alongside partial and sleep power management states.

Vertical and horizontal connectors suit different

One SATA port is oriented vertically and the other horizontally for flexible routing. Hot swap and hot plug capabilities let drives be exchanged without shutting down the system. Copper conductors carry the signals between the slot and the drives.

Questions about this item

What does the 6.0 Gbps rating mean when the adapter is installed in a system?

The adapter connects two SATA 3.0 drives at up to 6.0 Gbps each, with backward compatibility to 3.0 Gbps and 1.5 Gbps devices.

Which slot standard does the NF-SA-044 use and what throughput does it provide?

It plugs into an NGFF Key B+M PCI Express slot using the JMB582 controller for dual SATA 3.0 ports.

What physical space and orientation do the two SATA ports need?

One port is vertical and one horizontal, both SATA 3.0, so the board fits 2280-length M.2 slots with clearance for both connector directions.
