  • 6 mm slot height prevents accidental laptop M-key installation
  • Compact 22 x 110 mm PCBA fits tight motherboard layouts
  • JMB582 controller enables protocol translation from SATA to NVME

NGFF B+M to NVME M-key adapter

This Vszerda adapter connects a SATA NGFF Key B+M SSD to a desktop motherboard PCI-E NVME M-key slot. It uses a JMB582 controller on a 22 by 110 millimetre PCB. The card accepts 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 length drives.

Replaces direct M-key NVME installation

The adapter lets you use an existing SATA NGFF Key B+M drive in an M-key host slot instead of buying a native NVME SSD. The jump is worth it when you already own a compatible SATA NGFF drive and have a free M-key slot on a desktop board.

Check drive keying and slot height

Verify your SSD is a SATA NGFF Key B+M model in one of the supported lengths. The NGFF slot on this adapter is 6 millimetres high and will not fit a laptop M-key slot. Confirm the motherboard provides a PCI-E NVME M-key connector.

Questions about this item

What desktop motherboard slot does this 22×110 mm adapter plug into?

It plugs into a desktop motherboard PCI-E NVME M-key slot; the NGFF Key B+M slot on the board is 6 mm tall so it will not fit a laptop M-key slot.

How do you install the JMB582 adapter and what step is often missed?

Insert a SATA NGFF Key B+M SSD (2230, 2242, 2260 or 2280) into the onboard slot, then seat the card in the motherboard M-key slot; the common mistake is trying to use an NVMe drive instead of a SATA NGFF drive.

When would the JMB582 controller on this card need replacement?

The JMB582 bridge chip is soldered to the 22×110 mm PCBA; if the controller fails the whole adapter must be replaced, while the SATA NGFF SSD itself can be swapped independently.
