This Vszerda cable bridges a USB 3.0 port on a laptop or desktop to an external eSATA hard drive, SSD or optical drive. It carries data at up to 5 Gbps and supplies DC 5 V power to a Power eSATA port so the connected drive does not need a separate power brick. The one-metre copper conductor is male-to-male and works with USB 2.0 hosts at reduced speed.

Integrated Power eSATA supply

The cable’s Power eSATA connector delivers 5 V directly from the USB host, removing the need for an external power adapter on compatible drives. This single-cable arrangement simplifies desk setups and makes the adapter practical for portable use with laptops. The power function is limited to Power eSATA ports; standard eSATA ports without power pins will not receive power from this cable.

One-way host-to-device direction

Data flows only from the USB host to the eSATA device, so the cable cannot be used to connect a USB drive to an eSATA host port. Buyers who need the reverse direction or who require a powered eSATA port on the host side should choose a different adapter.
