20 TB desktop RAID drive with 256-bit AES encryption, USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity and two integrated hub ports
Capacity 20TB
The Western Digital My Book Duo provides 20TB of storage in a desktop RAID enclosure. It is aimed at creators and professionals who need to consolidate large photo, video and music libraries or system backups onto a single external volume.
The unit ships with an external AC adapter and connects via USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C for both data and bus power to the host. Two integrated USB 3.2 Gen 1 hub ports add peripheral connectivity without extra cables.
It replaces smaller single-drive externals or older USB 3.0 arrays when capacity and hardware RAID-0 performance become the priority. The jump is worth it when workflow demands exceed the limits of a single mechanical drive and 256-bit AES encryption is required for data at rest.

Other versions of this model
Connect the AC adapter, plug the USB-C cable into the computer, then run the WD Discovery installer to enable 256-bit AES hardware encryption and RAID management — skipping the software step leaves the drives unencrypted.
The two internal drives are user-replaceable; use the supplied disk replacement tool to swap a failed drive and the RAID array will rebuild automatically.
The USB 3.2 Gen 1 link caps sustained throughput at roughly 5 Gbps, so long sequential copies will hit that interface ceiling before the internal drives reach their maximum speed.
