Mac-ready portable storage

The Western Digital My Passport Ultra for Mac is a 6 TB portable hard drive formatted for macOS 11 and later. A downloadable HFS+ driver enables read and write access on Windows 10 and newer without reformatting. It targets Mac owners who need large-capacity external storage that works straight out of the box.

Capacity and everyday headroom

Six terabytes holds extensive photo libraries, video projects, music collections and document archives with room to spare. The drive tops out at 6 TB, so workflows that grow beyond that will need additional volumes. USB 3.2 Gen 1 delivers up to 5 Gbps transfer rates for routine backups and file moves.

Metal build and connector flexibility

A sleek metal enclosure adds durability for transport in a bag. The box includes a USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB-A adapter, letting you connect to modern Macs and older USB-A ports without extra dongles. Included software provides password protection and hardware encryption for sensitive files.
