What this drive is and who it fits

The WD_BLACK P10 Game Drive is a 6TB portable external hard drive built for gamers who need extra space for a growing library. It connects over USB 3.2 Gen 1 and works with Windows 10 or later, macOS 11 or later, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The metal-topped enclosure holds up to 150 games in a compact, travel-ready form factor.

Check your ports and OS before ordering

Your device must provide a USB Type-A port and run one of the supported operating systems listed above. The drive draws power from the bus, so no separate adapter is required. A USB Type-A to Micro-B cable is included in the box. If your system only offers USB-C, you will need a suitable adapter or cable that is not supplied.

Build quality and everyday connectors

The enclosure measures 0.91 by 3.46 by 4.65 inches and weighs 0.55 lb, making it easy to slip into a bag. A sleek metal top cover protects the drive while giving it a premium feel. The single Micro-B port on the drive mates with the supplied cable for plug-and-play access, and the 130MB/s peak transfer rate keeps load times short during daily gaming sessions.

Questions about this item

Does the 6TB WD Black P10 Game Drive include a cable or do I need to buy one separately?

The box contains the WD Black P10 Game Drive, a USB Type-A to Micro-B cable and a Quick Install Guide, so no extra cable purchase is required.

The drive is listed with USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0 — which one should I use for the 130MB/s headline speed?

Use a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port on your PC or console; the 130MB/s figure is the rated maximum over that interface, while USB 2.0 will be considerably slower.

What does the 130MB/s transfer rate mean when I am actually loading games on my PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X?

It is the drive’s peak sequential read speed; real-world game loads will be lower and vary by title, but the rate supports playing PS4 and Xbox One titles directly from the drive.
