1-1/2" Varnish Paint Brush

The Wooster 5222 brush uses soft synthetic polyester filaments measuring 2 7/16 inches long and 1/2 inch thick. It is built for applying enamels, polyurethane coatings and varnishes on concrete, drywall, metal or wood. The beavertail wood handle gives comfortable control for both oil-based and water-based finishes.

Soft Polyester Filament

The white and silver bristles are flagged polyester designed to hold and release thin coatings smoothly on smooth or medium surfaces. Their soft stiffness reduces brush marks in varnish and polyurethane. Synthetic material resists swelling in water-based products and cleans easily after use with either oil or water solvents.

Sustained Coating Work

During extended brushing the filaments keep their shape and do not flare, so film thickness stays even across large areas. The wood handle absorbs moisture without becoming slippery, reducing hand fatigue on long jobs. Clean-up remains straightforward because the polyester releases both oil-based and water-based residues completely.
