18 Gbps Bandwidth with 4K60 Support

The extractor handles resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz and deep-colour formats up to 36-bit. It accepts input cables up to 10 metres using AWG26 wire, but will not pass Dolby Digital Plus or exceed the 600 MHz bandwidth limit.

Aluminium Housing with External Power

A black aluminium shell houses one HDMI input, one HDMI output, one Toslink port and one 3.5 mm jack. The unit requires the included 5 V/1 A adapter, measures 5.59 x 3.15 x 1.26 inches and weighs 3.2 ounces.

Questions about this item

Will the OZV8-1 pass 4K 60 Hz video from my Fire Stick to an older 1080p TV while sending 5.1 audio to my AV receiver via optical?

Yes — the extractor accepts 4K2K at 60 Hz on its HDMI input and passes the same resolution through the HDMI output; the TV will downscale automatically while the Toslink port carries 5.1-channel DTS or Dolby TrueHD to the receiver.

How can I verify the OZV8-1 is extracting audio correctly once I connect it?

Play a 5.1 test clip; the optical LED should glow and your receiver must show DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD decoding, while the 3.5 mm jack outputs stereo only — if both match, the extractor is working.

Does the OZV8-1 box include the HDMI cables I need for my PS3 and soundbar, or must I buy them separately?

The package contains only the extractor, a 5 V 1 A power adapter and a user manual; all HDMI cables must be purchased separately.
