Purpose-built cable

This adapter cable connects a Corsair CX-M Type 3 modular power supply to three Molex 4-pin devices. It suits builders replacing a lost original cable or adding legacy fans, optical drives or older accessories that still use Molex power connectors.

Layout and build

The cable runs 50 cm from the PSU to the first connector, then 15 cm to each of the two additional Molex plugs. It uses 18 AWG tin-coated copper wire rated for heat resistance and durability. The 6-pin male end has two empty pin positions, which is the standard pinout for this cable type.

Capacity and limits

The three Molex branches power up to three compatible devices such as case fans, floppy drives or older optical drives. It works only with Corsair CX430M, CX450M, CX500M, CX600M, CX750M and CX850M Type 3 units. Using it with other brands or Corsair models not listed can cause damage.
