30-Pin Adapter for Bose SoundDock

This adapter plugs into the 30-pin dock connector of a Bose SoundDock speaker and adds wireless audio streaming. It measures 4.3 cm by 3.5 cm by 1 cm and weighs very little for portable use. The black and white unit connects directly without cables or external power.

For owners of legacy 30-pin dock speakers

Users with a compatible Bose SoundDock or similar 30-pin speaker system can stream music from any Bluetooth device supporting A2DP. Buyers whose speakers use Lightning, USB-C or 3.5 mm input cannot use this adapter and should look for a different interface.

30-pin dock connector interface

The sole deciding specification is the standard 30-pin Apple dock connector on the adapter. If the target speaker does not have a matching 30-pin socket the unit will not fit and no wireless streaming is possible.

Questions about this item

What speaker dock must I already own for the 30-pin Bluetooth adapter to work?

You need a Bose SoundDock or other speaker with a standard Apple 30-pin dock connector; the adapter plugs directly into that slot.

Can I still use my original 30-pin iPod or iPhone with the dock after adding this adapter?

The adapter occupies the 30-pin port, so a wired 30-pin device cannot be connected at the same time; you would need to remove the adapter first.

How do I confirm the adapter is paired and streaming audio correctly?

After inserting the adapter the dock shows "iPod"; pair your phone or tablet to the adapter via Bluetooth, then play music — sound from the speakers means it is working.
