What this cable is and who it suits

This Zell Electronics Cat 8 Ethernet cable runs 50 ft and supports up to 2000 MHz bandwidth with 40 Gbps data speed. It uses 4 shielded foiled twisted pairs of 26 AWG oxygen-free copper and gold-plated RJ45 connectors. The white PVC jacket is waterproof and UV resistant for indoor or outdoor routing.

What the bundled accessories change

The package includes 30 cable clips and 2 cable straps at no extra cost. These let you secure the 600 mm diameter cable along walls, baseboards or conduit without buying separate fasteners. They keep the round white jacket neat and prevent accidental pulls on the connectors during installation.

Practical limits of the Cat 8 standard

Cat 8 is rated for 40 Gbps only over short channels up to 30 metres, so the 15 metre length here stays within that bound. The shielded construction reduces crosstalk and noise, but the standard does not extend the distance for 40 Gbps beyond 30 metres. Buyers needing longer runs at that speed will need active equipment or fibre.

Questions about this item

Will the gold-plated RJ45 connectors need replacement after repeated plugging?

The gold-plated RJ45 connectors resist corrosion and maintain signal integrity over many insertion cycles, so they do not require scheduled replacement under normal use.

What limits the 40 Gbps throughput during continuous heavy transfers?

The 2000 MHz bandwidth rating and 26 AWG S/FTP construction set the physical ceiling; sustained 40 Gbps also requires compatible 40 Gbps ports on both ends.

Does the 50 ft white PVC jacket get warm or draw extra power when run all day?

The cable is passive — it draws no power and generates no measurable heat, while the UV-resistant PVC jacket stays at ambient temperature during continuous operation.
