White Helios GX601 desktop

This ASUS ROG Strix Helios GX601 in white is a liquid-cooled gaming desktop PC built around a 16-core AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D running at 4.7 GHz and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 with 16 GB GDDR7 memory. It targets enthusiasts who want a pre-assembled Windows 11 system ready for high-refresh 4K play.

360 mm liquid cooler and 1000 W PSU

A 360 mm all-in-one liquid cooler handles the CPU thermals while the 1000 W power supply feeds the GPU and 128 GB of DDR5 memory across four populated slots. The configuration is tested and shipped ready to run, so acoustic output and power draw reflect a balanced high-end workload.

2 TB NVMe plus 2 TB HDD storage

The boot drive is a 2 TB NVMe SSD and a second 2 TB mechanical drive on SATA III adds bulk capacity for game libraries or media. Buyers who need more than 4 TB of total internal space or additional M.2 slots will have to expand externally.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 360 mm liquid cooler in the Helios GX601 case, and which step do builders often miss?

Mount the radiator to the top or front panel, attach the fans in push or pull orientation, connect the pump header to the CPU_FAN socket and the fan cables to a PWM hub — the step most often missed is removing the protective film from the cold-plate before seating it on the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

What maintenance will the 360 mm liquid cooler and the 1000 W power supply need after a few years of gaming?

Clean the radiator fins and fan blades every six to twelve months, check the pump for unusual noise, and verify that the PSU fan spins freely; the sealed loop requires no refill, but dust build-up on the 360 mm radiator is the main cause of rising coolant temperatures.

Which limit appears first when the RTX 5080 and Ryzen 7 9800X3D run sustained loads in this chassis?

The 360 mm liquid cooler’s heat-rejection capacity becomes the bottleneck before the 1000 W power supply or the 128 GB DDR5 memory, causing GPU and CPU clocks to throttle once coolant temperature saturates.
