ASUS ROG Strix Helios GX601 White Gaming Desktop

The ASUS ROG Strix Helios GX601 White is a pre-built gaming desktop PC powered by an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D 16-core processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics. It ships with Windows 11 Home installed and includes a 360mm liquid cooler for the CPU. This system targets gamers and content creators who want a ready-to-play machine with high core counts and modern GPU architecture.

Upgrading from older desktops or entry-level builds

Moving to this desktop from a system with fewer than 16 CPU cores or a previous-generation GPU brings a clear jump in multi-threaded throughput and graphics memory bandwidth. The 12GB GDDR7 video memory and 64GB DDR5 system memory combine to reduce bottlenecks in modern titles and creative workloads. The upgrade is most worthwhile when your current platform limits core count, memory speed, or PCI Express lane availability for high-speed storage.

Limits of the PCI Express x16

The graphics card connects via PCI Express x16, so its peak throughput depends on the motherboard's lane allocation and the CPU's supported generation. The 2TB hard drive uses a SATA III interface, which caps sequential transfer rates well below the 4TB NVMe SSD's potential. Builders who need multiple high-bandwidth add-in cards or several NVMe drives should verify the platform's total lane budget before adding more devices.

Questions about this item

What radiator clearance does the 360mm liquid cooler need inside the GX601 case?

The 360mm radiator mounts in the GX601 chassis with its included fans; the case is designed to fit this cooler without extra clearance checks.

How is the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D installed on the AM5 socket, and what step do builders often miss?

The processor drops into the keyed AM5 socket — align the triangle marker, lower the retention arm, and do not forget to remove the plastic socket cover before seating the CPU.

When will the 360mm liquid cooler need coolant attention or pump replacement?

The sealed 360mm loop is maintenance-free for the system life; only replace it if pump noise appears or temperatures rise unexpectedly.
