Universal 5-15P to C13 power cord

This eight-foot cord connects a computer, monitor, server or printer to a standard wall outlet or power strip. The NEMA 5-15P plug fits North American receptacles while the IEC 60320 C13 connector matches the inlet on most IT equipment. A fully moulded, three-wire grounded design with strain relief provides a secure, long-lasting connection. UL Listed and CSA certified (file E210037), RoHS compliant.

16 AWG gauge handles 13 A at 125 V

The SJT-jacketed, three-conductor copper cable is rated for 13 amps at 125 volts with a 105 °C / 300 V insulation rating. This gauge comfortably powers typical desktop PCs, monitors and office peripherals. It runs out of headroom for equipment that draws more than 13 amps continuously, such as high-density servers or 20 A PDU loads. For those heavier draws a thicker gauge is required.

NEMA 5-15P plug limits use to 15 A circuits

The 5-15P plug is keyed for standard 15-amp branch circuits and 125-volt outlets. It cannot be inserted into 20-amp twist-lock or industrial receptacles, so the cord cannot serve equipment that requires a 20-amp inlet or higher voltage. The C13 end is limited to the 10-amp rating of the IEC 60320 standard, even though the cable itself carries 13 amps.
