Converts IDE hard drives to SATA with JMicron JM20330 chipset at 150MB/s
This green adapter board connects a Parallel ATA hard drive or optical device to a host Serial ATA port using a JMicron JM20330 bridge chip. The vertical IDC 2×20 pin connector mates directly with the drive while the SATA signal connector plugs into the motherboard or controller.
Builders who require support for drives larger than 750 GB or who need a 6 Gbps SATA III link should look at other solutions because this unit tops out at 1.5 Gbps and the stated capacity ceiling.
The JMicron bridge delivers up to 150 MB/s over SATA I and SATA II, so the adapter is appropriate when that bandwidth meets the workload but not when higher sustained rates are required.
Measured against everything we stock in SATA, IDE & M.2 Drive Adapters, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

Yes, the JMicron JM20330 bridge supports any brand drive from 40 GB up to 750 GB and works with SATA I and SATA II motherboard inputs.
Check the device manager or dmesg output for the JMicron JM20330 enumerating at SATA 1.5 Gbps and verify sustained reads approach 150 MB/s with a benchmark tool.
