Adds five USB 3.0 ports — three Type-A and two Type-C with 25W Power Delivery each — via a single PCI Express slot
The Dell 5400PD adds three USB-A and two USB-C ports to a desktop through a single PCI Express x1 slot. All five ports share a combined 5 Gbps bandwidth ceiling for data transfer. Two USB-C ports deliver up to 25 W each under PD 3.0 and PPS, while three USB-A ports supply up to 7.5 W each under BC 1.2. The card draws its power from the slot and an optional 6-pin connector for higher loads.
This adapter suits owners of standard tower PCs with a free x1 slot who want more USB-A and USB-C sockets without an external hub. It will not help laptop users or small-form-factor systems that lack a full-height PCIe slot. Buyers who need 10 Gbps or 20 Gbps speeds should look at a USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Gen 2x2 card instead.
The two USB-C ports can charge phones, tablets or lightweight laptops at up to 25 W when the host device also supports PD 3.0 or PPS. Without a connected 6-pin power lead the card relies on slot power alone, which may limit simultaneous high-current charging. Check your device’s charging protocol before expecting the full 25 W per port.

The adapter runs on a PCIe ×1 interface and delivers a combined maximum of 5 Gbps for all connected devices.
The card has no fan and draws power only from the slot; it operates silently and stays cool under normal desktop loads.
A 6-pin PCIe power connector from the PSU is required for the USB-C ports to supply their full 25 W Power Delivery rating.
