Business notebook for daily tasks

The Dell Latitude 3450 is a 14-inch laptop built for office work and study. It ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and an Intel Core i3-4005U dual-core processor running at 1.7 GHz. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles the 1366 x 768 LED display. Eight gigabytes of DDR3 memory and a 256 GB SATA SSD provide the baseline configuration.

Upgrade from slower mechanical storage

Replacing a traditional hard drive with the included 256 GB SATA SSD cuts boot time and application launch delays. The jump is worth it when the current system stalls on file indexing or large spreadsheet loads. The 4th Gen i3 and 8 GB DDR3 will still limit heavy multitasking, so the improvement is most noticeable in storage-bound workflows rather than compute-heavy ones.

Handles core productivity, not heavy loads

The 256 GB SSD comfortably holds the operating system, office suites and a moderate document archive. Eight gigabytes of DDR3 keeps a typical browser session with several tabs responsive. The dual-core 1.7 GHz CPU and integrated graphics run out of headroom with video encoding, modern gaming or large dataset analysis. Buyers needing sustained multi-thread performance or discrete graphics should look elsewhere.
