Rugged 14-inch laptop for field work

The DELL Latitude 5424 is a new 14.0-inch rugged notebook built to military-grade standards for harsh environments. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with 6 MB cache and speeds up to 3.60 GHz. The system includes 16 GB DDR4 memory and dual M.2 solid-state drives of 512 GB and 1 TB. A 10-point touchscreen with FHD 1920 x 1080 resolution supports glove use and direct sunlight viewing.

Suits mobile professionals needing durability

This laptop suits field engineers, first responders and outdoor workers who need a device tested for shock, vibration and extreme temperatures. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles office applications and video playback but is not designed for 3D rendering, modern gaming or GPU-accelerated workloads. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance or a lighter ultraportable chassis should look elsewhere.

Dual M.2 SSD storage configuration

The defining specification is the dual M.2 SSD layout providing 512 GB and 1 TB of solid-state storage in a single rugged chassis. This gives ample space for operating system, applications and large field datasets without mechanical hard drives. Connectivity includes USB 3.0, USB Type-C, HDMI, DisplayPort, serial port, RJ-45, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and optional LTE 4G with GPS.
