Rugged 14 5424 build and purpose

The Latitude 5424 is a 14.0-inch rugged laptop engineered for field work, with a chassis tested to military-grade standards for shock, vibration and extreme temperatures. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor and includes Intel UHD Graphics 620 for integrated visuals.

Field workers versus office users

Workers who need a non-touch FHD screen readable in direct sunlight, dual M.2 SSD storage (512 GB + 1 TB), 8 GB DDR4 memory and a full port set including USB 3.0, USB Type C, HDMI, DisplayPort, serial and RJ-45 will find the hardware matches mobile operations. Buyers who want a touchscreen, discrete graphics or a lighter ultrabook form factor should look at something else.

Quad-core i7-8650U with 8 MB cache

The processor reaches 4.20 GHz turbo frequency and provides four cores with 8 MB L2 cache, defining the performance ceiling for every workload on this unit. Integrated UHD 620 graphics and 8 GB DDR4 memory set the practical limits for rendering and multitasking.
