Rugged 14 laptop for field work

The DELL Latitude 5424 is a 14.0-inch rugged notebook built to military-grade durability standards for harsh environments. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with 32 GB DDR4 memory. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 FHD touchscreen, which supports 10-point touch and glove operation. Storage combines a 256 GB M.2 SSD with a 2 TB M.2 SSD for capacity and speed.

Ports and connectivity to verify

This unit provides USB 3.0 ports, a USB Type-C port, HDMI, DisplayPort, a serial port and an RJ-45 Ethernet jack. Wireless includes dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth; LTE 4G and dedicated GPS are optional and may not be installed. Check that your peripherals match the available video outputs and legacy serial interface. Confirm whether the WWAN module is present if mobile broadband is required for your deployment.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

The rugged chassis is engineered for passive heat dissipation and extended temperature ranges without active cooling noise in typical office or field workloads. Integrated graphics and the low-power i7-8650U (up to 4.20 GHz) keep thermal output modest during standard productivity tasks. Dual internal battery packs (6- and 9-cell) support all-day runtime, with an optional hot-swap bridge battery available for continuous operation away from mains power.
