Business ultrabook with dual storage

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 14.0 inch touchscreen laptop powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor running at 1.70 GHz. It comes with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a dual-drive configuration that pairs a 256 GB M.2 SSD with a 2 TB secondary SSD. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed on the system. The IPS panel delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution for clear visuals.

Connectivity and expansion options

Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles the display output through HDMI and a USB Type-C port with DisplayPort capability. The chassis provides three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports, one supporting PowerShare, alongside VGA, RJ45, an SD card slot and a noble wedge lock slot. Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth manage wireless connections while an optional Thunderbolt interface is available over the Type-C connector. The 0.9 inch front height keeps the profile slim for mobile use.

Suited for office multitasking and local data

This configuration serves professionals who need ample local storage and memory for heavy multitasking without relying on cloud sync. Buyers who want a lighter device for frequent travel may find the 4.19 lb weight and 14.8 inch width less convenient. The integrated graphics limit the machine to general productivity and light media tasks rather than intensive creative workloads. Users requiring a dedicated GPU or a smaller footprint should consider other options.

Questions about this item

Will the Intel Core i5-8350U throttle under sustained heavy workloads?

The quad-core processor runs at a base 1.70 GHz and can reach 3.60 GHz on turbo, but sustained clocks depend on the cooling solution inside the 14.0 inch chassis.

How loud and hot does the laptop get when running all day?

Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 and the 15 W CPU keep heat modest; fan noise rises under load but stays within typical ultrabook levels for a 4.19 lb device.

What cables or peripherals are required to use the dual SSD storage out of the box?

The 256 GB M.2 primary and 2 TB secondary drives are already installed; Windows 10 Pro is pre-loaded, so no extra hardware is needed to start working.
