Business ultraportable with dual-drive storage

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 14.0-inch Full HD laptop powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor running at 1.9 GHz with 8 MB L2 cache. It comes with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a dual-storage configuration pairing a 128 GB M.2 drive with a 2 TB secondary SSD. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 IPS non-touch display, and Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Professionals needing ample local storage

This configuration suits users who want large on-board capacity split across two drives and a full complement of older interfaces including VGA, RJ-45, HDMI, three USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports (one with PowerShare) and a USB Type-C port with DisplayPort alt mode. Buyers who need a touchscreen, a dedicated graphics card or a lighter chassis should consider other models.

Quad-core U-series CPU with 8 MB cache

The Intel Core i7-8650U provides four cores and eight threads with a base frequency of 1.9 GHz and a maximum turbo of 4.2 GHz, supported by 8 MB of L2 cache. This processor determines the laptop's multi-threaded performance ceiling for business workloads and light content creation.

Questions about this item

How can I verify the i7-8650U is running at its 4.20 GHz boost after setup?

Open Task Manager and watch the CPU frequency column while a heavy load runs; it should climb toward 4.20 GHz on the four cores.

What ports and drives are included, and what must I add myself?

The box supplies the laptop with 32 GB DDR4, 128 GB M.2 plus 2 TB secondary SSD, Wi-Fi 4, Bluetooth, HDMI, three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports (one PowerShare), one USB Type-C with DisplayPort, VGA, RJ45, SD slot and audio jack — no extra parts are required for basic operation.

Should I choose the 32 GB RAM and dual-drive version or a smaller configuration?

This unit already comes with the maximum 32 GB DDR4 and the 128 GB + 2 TB dual SSD; select it if you need that full capacity.
