Dell Latitude 5590 business ultrabook

This new Dell Latitude 5590 runs Windows 11 Pro on an 8th Generation Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with 8 GB of DDR4 memory. It features a 15.6 inch Full HD IPS display at 1920 x 1080 resolution and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620. A dual-drive layout pairs a 128 GB M.2 SSD with a 2 TB secondary SSD for operating system speed and bulk capacity.

Who this suits and who it does not

Mobile professionals needing a durable 5000-series chassis with multiple USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, HDMI, a USB-C DisplayPort connection, wired RJ-45 networking and Wi-Fi 4 plus Bluetooth will find the connectivity complete. Buyers who want a touchscreen, discrete graphics, Thunderbolt-certified ports or a higher-resolution panel should look elsewhere.

Quad-core i5-8350U with 6 MB L2 cache

The processor runs at 1.70 GHz base frequency and can reach 3.60 GHz turbo across four cores and eight threads, with 6 MB of L2 cache. That clock-speed envelope decides whether the laptop meets your workload demands for office suites, web multitasking and light content creation.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 3.1 Gen1 and USB Type-C DisplayPort ports work with my older USB 3.0 dock and monitor cables?

Yes — the three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports and the USB Type-C port with DisplayPort alt mode are backward compatible with USB 3.0 devices and standard DisplayPort cables.

How can I verify the i5-8350U is running at its 3.60 GHz turbo speed under load?

Open Task Manager’s Performance tab or a tool like HWMonitor while running a heavy task; the CPU frequency should climb toward 3.60 GHz on all four cores.

Does the box include a power adapter and are the 128 GB M.2 and 2 TB secondary SSDs already installed?

The laptop ships with a power adapter, and both the 128 GB M.2 primary drive and the 2 TB secondary SSD come pre-installed — no extra storage purchase is needed.
