14.0" FHD IPS touchscreen laptop with quad-core i5-8350U, 16 GB DDR4 and 128 GB + 2 TB dual SSD storage
Model 16GB/128GB+2TB W11P Touch
The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 14.0 inch touchscreen ultrabook built for professionals who need reliable performance on the move. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with 16 GB DDR4 memory. Storage combines a 128 GB M.2 primary drive with a 2 TB secondary SSD for ample capacity. The 1920 x 1080 IPS panel supports touch input for flexible interaction.
The low-power U-series processor runs at 1.7 GHz base frequency with a 3.60 GHz turbo boost across four cores and eight threads. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles display output without a discrete GPU, keeping heat and fan noise modest during typical office workloads. The compact chassis manages thermals for sustained productivity without excessive acoustic output. Power draw stays contained thanks to the efficient architecture and integrated graphics solution.
The black chassis measures 14.8 inches wide, 9.87 inches deep and .9 inch high at the front, weighing 4.19 lbs for a balance of durability and portability. Ports include HDMI, VGA, RJ45, three USB 3.1 Gen1 sockets with one PowerShare, USB Type-C with DisplayPort and optional Thunderbolt, an audio combo jack, SD slot and Noble Wedge lock. Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth provide wireless connectivity for peripheral and network access.

Remove the bottom cover, insert the M.2 drive into the slot at an angle, secure it with the retention screw, then reinstall the cover; the step often missed is initialising the new drive in Windows Disk Management so it appears in File Explorer.
The memory is soldered and not upgradeable, so no user replacement is possible; if capacity becomes insufficient the only option is a new system, otherwise keep vents clear to maintain thermal performance.
The 15W TDP envelope causes the processor to throttle from its 3.60GHz turbo back toward the 1.70GHz base clock once the cooling solution saturates, reducing multi-core performance until the load drops.
