DELL OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower Desktop

This DELL OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower desktop is built for students and home-office users who need a ready-to-use Windows 10 Pro system. It ships with a USB keyboard and mouse included so it can be productive immediately. The Intel Core i7-2600 quad-core processor runs at 3.40GHz and provides 64-bit performance for everyday applications. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 2000 handles standard display output without a discrete card.

16GB DDR3 memory and 256GB SSD capacity

The system comes with 16GB of DDR3 desktop RAM installed across four DIMM slots, leaving no free slots for further expansion. Maximum supported memory is 16GB, so the configuration is already at its limit. The 256GB 2.5-inch solid-state drive offers fast boot and application load times for the operating system and core programs. Users with large media libraries or multiple virtual machines will find the storage capacity restrictive.

DDR3 DIMM 240-pin memory constraint

Memory upgrades are limited to DDR3 modules in the 240-pin DIMM form factor because the motherboard has four slots and all are occupied. Any future change requires replacing existing sticks rather than adding new ones, and no other DDR generation is compatible. This single specification determines whether the platform can be adapted to higher memory demands. Buyers who anticipate needing more than 16GB of RAM should consider a different system.

Questions about this item

Will the Intel Core i7-2600 and DDR3 memory work with my existing DDR3 DIMMs and 2.5 inch drives?

The system uses DDR3 memory in 240-pin DIMM slots and a 2.5 inch SSD. All four memory slots are occupied by 4 GB modules, so adding more DDR3 requires replacing existing sticks.

How can I confirm the Intel HD Graphics 2000 and Gigabit Ethernet are functioning after setup?

Open Device Manager in Windows 10 Pro to verify Intel HD Graphics 2000 and the Gigabit Ethernet adapter appear without errors, then run a browser test and network speed check.

Does the box include the USB WiFi adapter, keyboard, mouse and Windows 10 Pro licence, or must I buy them separately?

The USB WiFi adapter, USB keyboard, USB mouse and Windows 10 Pro with Certificate of Authenticity are all included; no separate purchase is needed for those items.
