Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower desktop

This Dell OptiPlex 790 Mini Tower desktop is built around an Intel Quad-Core i7-2600 processor running at 3.40GHz with 64-bit support. It ships with 4GB of DDR3 memory and a 1000 GB 3.5-inch SATA hard drive. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed and a USB WiFi adapter provides wireless connectivity. The system includes a DVD±RW drive, USB keyboard and USB mouse.

Upgrade from older dual-core systems

The jump from a dual-core machine to this Quad-Core i7-2600 is worth it when you need smoother multitasking across several office applications or browser tabs. The 3.90 GHz Turbo Boost adds headroom for short bursts of heavier work. Buyers who want more storage than the single 1TB drive provides should plan to add a secondary drive.

Straightforward component access

The Mini Tower case uses standard 240-pin DIMM slots for DDR3 memory, allowing expansion up to 16GB without special tools. The 3.5-inch SATA drive bay accepts a second hard drive if extra capacity is needed. Installing a full-height expansion card may be limited by the chassis depth, so verify card length before purchase.
