Precision 5530 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built for professionals who need certified graphics and a high-resolution touch display in a thin chassis. It ships with Windows 10 Pro and a Dell AC adapter.

Suits ISV-certified workflows; not for pure gaming

Engineers and creators running ISV-certified applications gain from the NVIDIA Quadro P2000 with 4GB GDDR5 and the 3840 x 2160 IPS touch panel covering 72% color gamut. Buyers who want higher gaming frame rates or a larger screen should look elsewhere.

Factory-assembled; Thunderbolt 3 dock recommended

The unit arrives fully assembled so no internal installation is required. Adding peripherals through the single Thunderbolt 3 port and HDMI 2.0 output is straightforward, though users needing more than two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports often add a dock.

Questions about this item

Which ports do I need on my existing monitors or docks to use the Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 outputs on this Precision 5530?

Connect displays or docks that accept a Thunderbolt 3 cable or an HDMI 2.0 cable; the laptop provides one port of each type.

Will the NVIDIA Quadro P2000 with 4GB GDDR5 work with my older projects that were built on earlier Quadro drivers?

The Quadro P2000 uses 4GB GDDR5 memory and supports the same professional driver stack as previous Quadro cards, so existing projects should open and render normally.

How can I verify the 15.6" UHD touchscreen is running at its native 3840 x 2160 resolution after setup?

Open Windows Display Settings and confirm the resolution slider shows 3840 x 2160 as the recommended setting; the touch layer will respond to finger input at that resolution.
