Precision 5530 mobile workstation

The Dell Precision 5530 is a 15.6-inch UHD touch laptop built for professionals who need certified graphics and a colour-accurate display in a thin chassis. It runs Windows 11 Pro on an 8th Gen Intel Core i9-8950HK six-core processor with 32 GB DDR4 memory and dual 1 TB SSD storage.

Installation and common issues

The system arrives with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and the Dell AC adapter in the box, so initial setup is limited to user-account creation and driver updates. Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI 2.0 ports handle external displays, but the proprietary power connector means a spare charger must match the original Dell unit.

Capacity and headroom

32 GB DDR4 RAM and 1 TB SSD give ample room for large CAD assemblies, video timelines and virtual machines. The Quadro P2000 with 4 GB GDDR5 drives the 3840 x 2160 touch panel at 72 % colour gamut for colour-critical work, while the six-core CPU sustains 2.90 GHz base and 4.80 GHz boost clocks until thermal limits engage.
