Built for CAD and 3D workloads

The Dell Precision 7730 is a 17.3-inch mobile workstation with an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H six-core processor, 128GB of DDR4 memory and a dedicated NVIDIA Quadro P3200 GPU with 6GB GDDR5. It runs Windows 11 Pro and targets engineers and designers who need certified graphics drivers for professional applications.

Dual NVMe storage and Thunderbolt expandability

Two M.2 slots come populated with a 1TB and a 4TB NVMe SSD, giving 5TB of fast internal capacity without occupying a 2.5-inch bay. A single Thunderbolt 3 port adds high-speed external storage or dock connectivity, while HDMI 2.0 and Mini DisplayPort support multiple external monitors for multi-screen workflows.

Silver chassis with IPS panel and legacy ports

The non-touch 1920 x 1080 IPS display covers 72% colour gamut under a Premium Panel Guarantee. Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports and one USB 3.0 Type-A port keep older peripherals working without adapters, and a combo audio jack handles headset use. The AC adapter is included in the box.

Not for buyers who want a touchscreen or OLED panel

Not for users who need more than one Thunderbolt 3 port or USB4 connectivity || Not for teams requiring ISV certification on newer GPU architectures beyond the Quadro P3200 class.

Questions about this item

Will the 128 GB DDR4 memory need upgrading later?

The system already holds the maximum 128 GB DDR4 supported by this platform, so no further memory expansion is possible.

What thermal limit appears first during long rendering sessions on the Quadro P3200?

The 6 GB GDDR5 GPU will hit its thermal ceiling before the 6-core i7-8750H reaches its 4.10 GHz turbo limit under sustained load.

How loud and hot does the chassis get when the 17.3" FHD panel and Quadro P3200 run all day?

Dell's revised cooling keeps surface temperatures moderate and fan noise at office-friendly levels during continuous 1080p workloads.
