Tower workstation with Xeon W-2145 3.7 GHz 8-core CPU, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB NVMe SSD, 2 TB HDD and Quadro M4000 graphics
The Dell Precision T5820 is a tower workstation built for professional CAD, 3D modelling, visualisation and technical design applications. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and is configured for sustained workloads in engineering and creative environments. An Intel Xeon W-2145 8-core processor at 3.70 GHz provides the compute base for multitasking and business-critical productivity.
This system replaces ageing workstations that lack current ISV certification for professional software stacks. The jump is worth it when projects demand a 950 W power supply for add-in cards and storage upgrades, plus a toolless chassis for easy access. Buyers who need more than 16 GB of installed memory or a newer GPU architecture will need to configure those separately.
The 16 GB installed memory supports large project files, complex applications and virtual machines with room for expansion across eight total slots. A 512 GB M.2 SSD and 2 TB HDD combine responsive solid-state performance with capacity for applications, media and backups. The NVIDIA Quadro M4000 drives engineering and design visualisation workloads within its 8 GB frame buffer.

The Precision T5820 tower chassis includes internal drive cages that accept 3.5" and 2.5" drives, giving you physical space to mount additional storage using the adapter.
The T5820 features a toolless chassis; open the side panel, slide the adapter into an available drive bay until it clicks, then connect the data and power cables — the step often missed is securing the latch fully so the drive does not shift.
The 950W power supply delivers power to all installed drives; under sustained heavy workloads its capacitors can age, so plan to replace the PSU if voltage rails drift out of spec.
